Initially founded in 1968, McArdle Skeath's business has developed steadily since then, they now offer a unique supply chain management service portfolio within the areas of transportation, refrigeration, storage and value-added services.
The company operates two state-of-the-art facilities in Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan and Hollywoodrath, Dublin.
McArdle Skeath took delivery of their first Magaziner VNA unit in Inniskeen in 2003. As the company's warehousing operations grew to 21,000 pallet positions, they added to their Magaziner VNA fleet.
From 2015 the company began to tentatively search for an optimal Dublin based site for developmental growth, this search would lead to the purchase of a 25 acre site on the north side of Dublin, within easy access of all major motorways, Dublin Port and Dublin Airport.
McArdle Skeath engaged with Magaziner directly from the very start of their planning cycle, in fact the Dublin facility was designed specifically around the capabilities of the Magaziner EK1500XL VNA equipment which at the time facilitated 1000kg to be placed to a height of 17.4 metres.
McArdle Skeath operate 7 EK1500XL machines at their Dublin warehouses. In conjunction with the Magaziner VNA EK2000HL, it is now possible to service racking to 19 metres, please see the following link for more information.
The moral of this story is when planning a greenfield warehouse facility, you cannot speak to your VNA supplier soon enough. It is always more cost effective to build upwards than outwards.
